Working on the A590 in Cumbria, the team were tasked with investigating the ground conditions beneath the east bound carriageway, central reservation and at the toe of the eastern embankment.
On site, the team undertook a series of cable percussion boreholes to depths of 15m within Lane 1 of the A590 carriageway to the east of the Meathops roundabout and in the fields at the bottom of the existing embankment.
The preliminary logs show the ground conditions to be made ground and varying depths of peat over soft clays and silts.
Data from site is now being submitted by our drillers and engineers to the Highways England team.
