When we were asked to provide a ground engineering solution for a 19th century Grade II listed building in Truro, Cornwall, it was the sort of challenge we relished.
The Hall for Cornwall project led by main contractor Kier Construction is regenerating a landmark building in Truro into a re-vamped theatre and performance centre. The Van Elle team were tasked with installing 42 low headroom piles while ensuring a safe working environment that had minimal impact on the historic building.
“These type of projects are bread and butter for our specialist engineers, however preserving the history and heritage of one of Cornwall’s leading tourist landmarks as well as community epicentre was top priority in our approach. The craftsmanship used to build such an iconic building is of the highest standard, therefore we demanded our team provided the right solution for the client to match. It was a pleasure to work collaboratively with Kier on such a great project.” Jon Bullock, Director Specialist Piling
