Case Study

NORA, Wisbech Road, King’s Lynn

Precast Concrete Driven Piling and Smartfoot ground beams

Norfolk

Project Background

As part of a regeneration programme to improve the Nar Valley Park area of King’s Lynn, a former factory site is being transformed into a residential estate by Lovell Partnerships and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk.

NORA 4 is the forth phase of development on the site and will consist of more than a hundred two and three bedroom homes.

Client Challenge

In recent years the site was a wasteland and the ground was very unstable and contaminated.

Lovell Partnerships carried out lime stabilisation treatments which took several months, to allow the site to be constructed on.

Van Elle Solutions

Using a Junttan PM-16 piling rig we installed approximately 500 piles to depths of up to 18 metres before more than 2500 linear metres of Smartfoot Precast ground beams were laid.

The 20-week programme was tight, but careful planning and safe delivery helped the team deliver the foundations on schedule.

Key Benefits

Delivery: Supporting the client in a regeneration programme that will improve the area, build a new community and provide a range of quality homes.

Installation: 20-week programme across both techniques
