Working at Van Elle

As a direct employer of more than 600 people, delivering over 1000 projects a year, we have plenty of opportunities. We are committed to creating high-quality careers that enable our people to achieve their aspirations.

Our culture makes us different. We are a ‘can-do’ business and right across the company our employees care for one another and work as a team to deliver the best quality projects; safely for our clients.

We try to live by our values – Safety, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence. These values shape what do and form the basis of our culture both on site and in the office.

the diversity of our business provides opportunities in engineering, plant, technology, commercial, procurement, financial, estimating, planning, business development and many other areas. Our culture, which is reinforced by our values means that you will be supported, encouraged and rewarded to succeed.

We operate internal training programmes for all employees, many delivered on-site at our Kirkby training facility or on-line through our training portal. We support and fund apprenticeship opportunities every year for numerous roles, plus professional development programmes accredited to the relevant institutional bodies.

As well as a competitive salary, we provide a range of benefits according to your role.

We also encourage participation in company wide working groups and to make a difference in local communities through volunteering days and social value activities.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are proud, certified members of the 5% club and Disability Confident Committed programme.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

We are committed advocates of equality, diversity and inclusion for our employees and in partnership with clients, in the following ways:

  • understanding, valuing and working diversely to enable fair and full participation in work and activities
  • ensuring that there is no discrimination in recruitment, selection, performance management or other processes
  • promoting equality; this includes conducting equality screening and impact assessments of policies and functions
  • treating individuals with fairness, dignity and respect
  • playing a part in removing barriers and redressing imbalances caused by inequality and unjustified discrimination.

Here are some of the latest examples of how we’re supporting EDI across the business:
