From our head office, plant, transport and offsite production teams in Kirkby in Ashfield to our teams delivering over 1000 projects a year out in the field, we all strive to make a positive difference within the communities we serve.
Corporate social responsibility is high on our agenda and our teams are encouraged to take part in a wide variety of activities in addition to their day job.

Inspiring Future Engineers
Colleagues visited schools in Leeds to educate and entertain over 160 children about ground engineering. This was demonstrated through an interactive play session using fun materials such as jelly, sand, and Lego.
Collaborative Social Value Day
Together with SPL Powerlines and Adey Steel Group, we took part in a great collaborative effort to support the Holbrook St Michaels football club, in installing floodlight foundations.
STEM Sessions Delivered

Cancer Research UK Donation
We raised £17,000 for Cancer Research UK, our chosen charity for 2021/2022. As well as salary sacrifices throughout the year, we supported campaigns and encouraged our employees to take part in fundraising as individuals and within the business.
Christmas Present Donation
In December, our employees collected over 150 presents to support the Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal, which makes a huge difference to thousands of families across the region.
Collections for Local Soup Kitchen
We delivered over 100 essential items to the Mansfield Soup Kitchen; as well as donating 10 boxes of plastic cups to help support the services they provide.
£2k Donation to Support Ukraine Relief
We Donated £2,000 to the Nottingham Ukrainian Cultural Centre, which is actively raising money to directly support those fleeing Ukraine, with funds raised going towards medical packs, food, blankets and other humanitarian aid.
Collaborative Community Clean Up
The event, organised by Ashfield District Council and Network Rail saw a total of 28 volunteers participate in the initiative, including 14 Van Elle employees and resulted in the collection of 26 bags of litter.
Tree Planting
Our team of volunteers helped to plant 150 sapling at Holiday Hills Park in Kirkby in February, alongside children from Bracken Hill School.
A46 Binley Junction
During a project for Osborne we attended a number of stakeholder engagement sessions, providing information to more than 300 people. We also donated 20kg of biscuits to Coventry food bank.
Cancer Research UK
For our 2021/22 Charity of the Year we have taken part in Stand Up to Cancer, hosted our local CRUK rep during a Lunch & Learn session and are planning to host a fundraiser in the Spring.
Derby Ram Trail 2021
As a sponsor of the Derby Ram Trail we sponsored a ram, supporting Derby Museums’ Endowment Campaign. In addition, our in-house team designed and delivered bespoke concrete plinth bases for the rams, which we collected and recycled one the trail closed.
Teversal Titians
A kids’ football team, based five miles from the Van Elle’s Kirkby-in-Ashfield head office, started their 2021 summer league in brand new kits thanks to our donation.
