Last week, our driven piling team achieved a major milestone at the Baker Viaduct, TRU project as they installed the 2,233rd pile, marking the completion of the piling scope for both the embankment and West Abutment sections.
In total, the team installed an impressive 25,000 linear metres of piling, with all precast concrete produced at our Kirkby-in-Ashfield production factory.
To overcome challenges such as obstructions and early refusals, we also installed steel tubular piles sourced from recycled oil field casings, reflecting our commitment to reducing carbon impact.
With the piling phase complete, we’ve now moved on to the next phase of work, which includes pile cropping, capping, and backfilling of all of the embankment piles.
