Van Elle’s Rail division has made another key investment in its fleet, with the upgrade of its latest Colmar T10000 from a fleet of 20 road-rail piling rigs invested since 2015
Road Rail Vehicles (RRV’s) are certified to run on Network Rail managed infrastructure for seven years once certified.
The Van Elle fleet has now started to reach this milestone and is being upgraded as part of a rolling upgrade programme, in accordance with rail industry standards.
This covers a complete replacement of various safety critical control systems and enhanced maintenance and checks to improve reliability.
An independent inspection is undertaken by a Plant Acceptance Body (Aegis in this case) and a new Engineering Conformity Certificate issued then the machine is given a new paint scheme (in signal yellow) and signed back into the fleet.
With the capability to run a wide range of attachments including, Movax, BSP Impact Hammers, VESPA Mast, SPIRIT Masts and Rhino Horn long reach, the Colmar T10000 is one of the most versatile rigs in the Van Elle fleet.
