Van Elle’s Rail division recently took delivery of the first excavator-mounted, telescopic auger drive attachment in the UK.
The tailor-made KB-70S MOVAX piling drill attachment is designed for cast in-situ (concrete) piling.
It is explicitly designed for soil removal tasks and is especially suitable for work in confined spaces, while still being good at reaching over obstacles.
The telescopic/ kelly bar design keeps the drill height low and allows working on sites with limited headroom without compromising on drilling depth.
The heavy-duty, kelly-bar-type piling drill has a maximum drilling depth of up to 12 meters and will allow us to auger up to 1500mm in diameter.
David Buckley, Director of Rail & Strata Geotechnics, said: “This important innovation is part of our strategic investment programme to continuously improve the efficiency of delivering cast in-situ foundations on the railway.”
