The Van Elle fleet grows again as the latest Llamada P-160TA piling rig arrives at our Kirkby in Ashfield headquarters.
The Llamada P-160TA is the second of its model to be added to the company fleet, bringing the total number of open site continuous flight auger (CFA) piling rigs to 19.
The latest edition was transported directly from Construcciones Mecánicas Llamada’s factory in Barcelona and will help meet the increasing demand for large diameter CFA piling around the country.
The new rig is due to be deployed immediately to the Wood Wharf Development Phase 3 project in Canary Wharf, London.
The continuous flight auger piling rig weighs 72 tonnes when in transport mode and can drill 400mm to 1050mm diameter CFA piles to depths of 35 metres, and 1200mm diameter CFA piles to depths of 33 metres.
It is ideally suited to working across a wide range of CFA pile types, bearing, secant and contiguous piled walls.
This is the ideal machine to work in reduced dimension spaces due to its lightweight and small dimensions as well as its great stability, high performance, and quick set-up.
Malcolm O’Sullivan, Director of Piling, said: “This new edition enhances our CFA fleet as we continue to modernise our rigs, to ensure our capability and provide our clients with assurance and commitment to deliver project requirements to the highest standards of safety and quality.”
