Van Elle’s generosity helps share joy of Christmas

Community

Every year, The Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal makes a huge difference to thousands of families across the region.

Two members of our team, Amanda Vickerage, Financial Controller and Helen Lees, Purchase Ledger Supervisor issued a plea for Christmas gifts to support the campaign.

And earlier this month, they delivered over 150 Christmas presents kindly donated by our employees.

Amanda said: “It was a pleasure to make a delivery to the local branch in our hometown of Ripley today. Myself and Helen have been completely overwhelmed with the response from everyone this year, a massive thank you to all that contributed.

“Visiting them today was very emotional. The charity mentioned that they currently have 411 local families requesting help with Christmas gifts for their children, with demand for support expected to be at a record high this year, as a result of the cost-of-living crisis.”

1 in 5 children will go without a present this year, and we believe every child should be able to open a gift on Christmas morning.

So, to be able to support this campaign and give back to those in our local community by delivering an overwhelming number of gifts is tremendous, well done to our employees.
