Further to signing the Armed Forces Covenant in early June, the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, which recognises employers who demonstrate support to armed forces communities, has awarded Van Elle with the Bronze accolade.
To be recognised at bronze level, companies must pledge their support to the armed forces and include existing or prospective employees who are members of the organisation.
They also must demonstrate being armed forces-friendly and open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans, cadets and military spouses/partners.
Mark Cutler, CEO signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the company and said: “We are delighted to be awarded the Bronze award for our ongoing commitment to the armed forces community, with values that align to those set out in the Armed Forces Covenant.
“We are keen to further demonstrate our support of the armed forces and see it as an important step in our ongoing development as a business.
“We aim to foster diversity across our entire workforce and seek to address the ever-growing skills gap within our industry. We want to provide every opportunity for talented military personnel to bring their skills and experience into a rewarding career with Van Elle.
“We now look forward to attaining the ERS Silver Award as we further strengthen our commitment to the forces.”
